Finding Oneself

The ultimate imponderable is not really how far we are from one element of the universe we are or how much more can we harness the power of science and innovation to explore the unknown.
Delving deep within oneself to answer a seemingly innocuous question like " Who am I ?" and " What is the purpose of my life?"has the been the subject of curiosity, intrigue and more often than not brushed aside impatiently or relegated very conveniently to the spiritually inclined to answer while the rest of the mankind is busy doing things that concern with the "what", which is perhaps an easier route to take.
So it is a matter of shame that issues that concern human life, selfless love, compassion, fairness, righteousness and such other 'conscientious' feelings seldom surface in this world of might is right," with my power thou shalt quiver" and such misplaced idealogies.
So we have arms race, hunger for power, terrorism and "counter-terrorism(?!)" despair and gloom in our midst even as Nature is ravaged by concrete jungles.Poor Nature sheds tears as we have tsunamis, volcanoes, earthquakes and floods with snowfall in the deserts even as mankind faces one scourge after another with ill equipped knowledge to tackle medical challenges, created more often by man in the first place.
Finding oneself and aligning to ideals of caring and sharing (which every school child is perhaps taught and promptly dissuaded in the grind of every day existence) is the only hope of salvation. Sure science can and must help.If channelised by the mind that is governed by the heart.the answers are deep within oneself.
